10th May 2012 I came here today at around 3pm to get some lunch as I was held up in a meeting. There was no food in the cabinet and they had officially stopped serving lunch. I was absolutely starving and was so stoked when the owner went out of her way to make me one of the tastiest beetroot salads I have had in a long time. The staff were so friendly and accommodating that I would come here any day of the week. The food is incredible fresh, tasty and healthy. It's so awesome to have these guys as our local!

29th February 2012 When judging a cafe, it really needs to start at the most fundamental of levels - the quality of the cup of coffee that they are brewing up for their customers.
Gasket gets it right! They roast their own coffee and the taste is fresh. I drink my coffee black and, as such, you can quickly tell when the beans are freshly roasted versus weeks-old and packaged off-site by a supplier.
While most cafes that I frequent serve what is essentially a stale brew, Gasket's is the real thing - fresh, zingy and full of taste.
They are my new coffee house of choice and well worth the slightly longer walk from work!

29th February 2012 I can't fault anything about our recent breakfast at Gasket. Poached eggs were cooked to perfection. Coffee so good I had to have another - but is served in handy take-away cups so if you don't finish it you can take it with you. Attentive, friendly service, easy parking and so many lovely looking things on the menu we'll be back time in no time!

17th February 2012 Working in Ellerslie / Penrose there are very few lunch options so my colleagues and I were quite excited to hear of a new venue. When we walked into the recently refurbished building (was previously a dark, seedy garage) we were pleasantly surprised to see what a great job the new owners had done. The space was open ala New York loft style and light and airy. As they had just opened on the Wednesday they didnt have a lunch menu but the breakfast menu and the food in the cabinet looked delicious. I was not disappointed with my beef bap. In fact it was possibly one of the best beef baps I have tasted in a long time. Great start Basket!
Great coffee and great service. With parking outside go out if you way to have a coffee or lunch here. It is fantastic. Lance
