Went to Sails for a reunion dinner just after New Year and was wowed by the whole place. We sat out on the deck which had a lovely breeze on a hot summer night. From the moment we entered, we were looked after by the lovely wait staff. We were seated promptly and exactly where we wanted to be. This was without a reservation and it was busy. When the food arrived, in decent time, it was totally adequate and tasted fabulous. We were kept stocked with ice-cold water without having to ask for it and were waited on to the point that we left a tip. I had never left a tip in my life!Would definitely go there again and highly recommend.

Sails not only has a wonderful position for views of the Harbour Bridge, Rangitoto Island and sailboats, but the cuisine is equally enchanting so it holds your attention as well as the view! The menu is creative without going over the "top" and we enjoyed a complimentary starter, and wine which complemented the local produce, beef, and fish entrees Everything was prepared beautifully and the service is "top notch" too!! We highly recommend Sails for any celebration and look forward to our next dinner out!!! The only suggestion we have relates to people who have difficulty climbing a steep set of stairs, is for the restaurant to consider installing a lift for ease of access.

We revisited Sails last night for a family dinner. The service as usual was impeccable, the food superb and the complimentary bottle of Nevis Bluff pinot noir was gratefully received. We shall return.

Consistently excellent! Plenty of parking right outside. Great views of Westhaven Marina and the Harbour Bridge. Excellent service - formal without being stuffy or pretentious and very professional. The food is to die for and the winelist must be one of the best in the city. Have been coming here for years now for very special occasions. The comment below about 'certainly paying for it' is ignorant in the extreme.

You will not regret eating here. not only do they have great service from entrance to exit but the food and the view is perfect, combined with an atmosphere that makes you want to stay.

A great place to dine. You know you can get a carpark outside, the service will be of a high standard, and the food top-notch - every time you dine. With amazing views, great menu and solid wine list. One of my favourite places to eat in Auckland.

Everything in two words - Sails Restaurant! Plenty of parking, seats, views...the list is endless. The food is glorious no matter what the event for visiting is. Hats off to everyone whom works there for New Zealand's finest service

It seems there is no shortage of people that love sails. I like it - the food is fantastic with a huge list of top notch seafood. The location and the views are fantastic, and there is plenty of parking. The space inside is huge and so well suited to large groups. It space feels a bit big for just a couple though. If you are going as a couple I'd ask for a table near the windows or tucked away somewhere

I love Sails. It is consistently good. definitely not young and funky, (if you want music and lights and 20 year olds in minidresses, go to the Long Room). Instead Sails is a taste of how it used to be to get dressed up and go and eat good food in a place where it is quiet enough to actually hear each other speak across the table without shouting. As you'd expect in a place where the water is just outside the window, the seafood is excellent. I love the menu, the lamb is especially good, but always seem to drift back to the old favourite of perfectly cooked fish and chips. If you're wanting to take mum and dad out to tell them you love them, then you could do no wrong with Sails.

Have been to Sails couple of times in the last 6 months and it is consistently fabulous. Service is personal and the food is divine. Even with a full house , the staff always make you feel like you are the only person dining that night. Tracy
