Brentleigh Homestead is a farmstay/fishing retreat on the banks of the Mataura River, world famous for its fly fishing.
Your hosts Mary & Brian have developed a reputation for their genuine southern hospitality & high quality country cuisine.
Brentleigh is a 290 hectare mixed cropping farm which also runs sheep, cattle and deer. The Homestead is set in a large garden, where Mary grows over 1000 paeonies for the export cut flower market. These flower in November and December.
The farm is situated in Northern Southland, central to Fiordland [ 1 hour], Queenstown [ 1 1/2 hours] The Catlins [ 1 hour] and Invercargill 1 hour.
Brentleigh's central location is ideal for fly fishermen as 10 good fishing rivers are within 45 minutes drive. Fishing guides can be arranged
