31st January 2012 We have been fans of Jose Y Maria's Mexican Specialities for years and it just gets better and better! They will be back from Mexico soon and sure to bring back some more authentic Mexcican ingredients. We love Jose's steak tacos which are so tender and tasty! The gift shop on site has lots of authentic Mexican silver jewellery, icons and all sorts of crafts at super prices too. We buy Jose's homemade flour and corn tortillas so we can make our own chicken and steak fajitas, corn chips and taco salad when the restaurant is not opened - we're addicted, but it's ALL SO GOOD!!!
15th March 2013 Consistently great Mexican food with a point of difference.
The hidden suburban location, non-descript building facade and casual atmosphere masks a sophisticated culinary experience.
I haven't been to another Mexican restaurant where there is this level of thoughtfulness behind their dishes. Go and experience it for yourself.

15th July 2010 To be honest I'm quite scared about writing a review for this place - I don't want other people to find out about it and not get a table ever again! Well with that in mind... here goes: this is seriously the best mexican place about and you must go! The spicy prawn burrito (can't remember actual name) is just divine!!! They are only open three days, and only for lunch so get there early! Enjoy

12th July 2010 An absolute hidden gem and one of Auckland's truly best kept secrets. If you like really authentic mexican food it's a must. It's very small and intimate, the food is served on paper/plastic plates and it's not licensed but they have that really good mexican sweet/sour lime drink. It's only open for lunch three days a week and is always packed so get in early. A memorable weekend lunch experience!
