23rd July 2010 Yes it's a buffet (which is often frowned upon in dining circles as being slightly uncouth) but The SBF offers an upmarket version with great food and top quality service. If you love seafood this just may be your idea of heaven; and there are 2 chief's on hand to cook whatever you desire from steak to fancy frittatas. Add to this a few glasses from one of the best bottles on the wine of the menu, and you've got yourself a brilliant lunch or dinner. The chocolate moose was the best I've had in years.
17th September 2010 We went here for a family birthday dinner, and it was pretty good. I had a vegetarian burger, which was tasty and substantial, although there was far too much mayonaisse for my liking. There were a good number of options of the menu, especially for vegetarians, but also for non. An especially good place if your group is a mixture of the two, or generally a group with mixed tastes.
Pudding was quite fantastic. I had some kind of chocolate pudding with custard, and it was probably the best pudding of the year. It was perfectly, balanced, I think I would say. Utterly delicious, rich but not too heavey or cloying, but still enormously satisfying.
Overall a good exprerience, my main was nice, very nice, but not exceptional or particularly exciting. Pudding though was extraordinary.
