Very busy Friday night - lots of families and big groups. Food was average with large portions. Service was average. Probably won't make it back.

My daughter and I love going to Lone Star in Newmarket. Lone Star provides a family environment where both adults and children can feel relaxed. The menu is varied allowing for a variety of food preferences. My daughter always enters the colouring in competition which adds another dimension to our dining experience. The waiting staff are always friendly, energetic and well versed in all that is available to eat and drink. The music is another feature that keeps us returning to Lone Star. We will be back!

I somewhat disagree with the below review. The music is loud - yes, and price is high- yes; but I do get very good vibes there everytime I go. The food is tasty to me and they are always in VERY BIG portion!! I even tried their vegetarian dish (new) once and was pleasantly surprised! YUM!!

love the food and portion sizes, atmosphere is amazing. how the night we went service was shocking. was seated in the bar booths as we wanted, failed to ave a waiteress serve us, 3 times after speaking to the manager we finally got one and then the table took 30-45 mins to be cleared

If you like value for money this is the place to stop, the meals are of very generous sizing as are the desserts, I went with a group of 12 and although they don't take bookings they did accomodate us and we were seated promptly. Staff are quick, efficiant and nothing is a problem, (just how I like em) Desserts are mouthwatering, so much so that one of my friends had all 5, and that was after a main!! And the kicker is he is cut like a body builder ( yes, us girls secretly hate him and his 6pack) If you go on your birthday let them know and you will get a free pavlova with a candle so everyone can sing you a tune. Awesome !!

My local haunt after work on a Friday (they know me here). Can't beat the steak, A) Because its HUGE B) it's great value for money & C) they cook it perfectly every time. Good on ya LS Newmarket, keep those su\purs jingling and jangling!

If you like your food good, cheap and plentiful, this is the place to go. A good range of beers too make this a cheap and cheerful good venue for meeting friends.

Being a southern lad, I was gutted when I moved to Auckland and there was no Lone Star - then one day a star arrived over Newmarket ... and I quickly became a regular. The team here are great, very friendly and always look after you esp on your birthday. I tell you, their Banoffy pie is ... heaven

Why, oh why, did we think it was a good idea to visit such a "child-friendly" restaurant in half term? Needless to say, it was busy, noisy and frenetic! Not really the restaurants fault, but the tables are a tad close together. But the food...oh yes the food. Even a lardy like me cannot complain at the gut-busting portions served! Not only quantity, but quality too. The steak was tasty and cooked to perfection, served with a great blue cheese sauce. Highly recommended...to both families with younglings and also grown-ups with healthy appetites, just make sure it's after the little one's bedtime...

despite lonestar being a hegeminous chain of vapid eateries, they actually produce decent food in food-coma inducing portions, for a fair price. but if only the wait staff weren't instructed to get up in my grill all the time. i feel sorry for these people forced to smile and schmoozee up to what must be a mainly male and chauvanistic crowd. not only does it look like its soul destroying for them, but i also don't appreciate having my meal interrupted constantly. great buffalo wings though

Great place for dinner with a group of friends or the family. BYO is great for the larger groups... they have a great menu, meals are large but always yummy as... place has lots of atmosphere and always happy with a younger crowd here... can be a little noisey though..

By far one of the best Lone Stars in the country. The staff are excellent, the food is great and the atmosphere - it's fantastic. I've had plenty of great times here, birthday parties are enjoyable .. and kids love it too.
