On 16/5/08 I purchased a stepper with a 100 kg weight fand a 1 yr guarantee on it from your Wellington Branch in Lower Hutt, However prior to purchasing the product, I inform the salesmen that I was 19 kg over and he recommended that I purchase a product recommended for my weight capacity, I explain my financial status and was very hesitant to sell me the product, and kept telling me to buy something else, I was hell bent on buying the product then he told me because of my weight this does not include the 1 yr guarantee, therefore suspending the guarantee. I told him if there was not guarantee, is there a discount, he made a ph call and said no. I feel I was not treated with respect and discriminated against on the account of my weight. I would have happily paid the 1 yr guarantee out of my own pocket, So please tell me in the Fair Trading Act that products advertised can have the guarantee suspended.
