27th October 2015 I went into Matau Garden Centre in Balclutha and said I wanted to kill moss and broadleaf weeds in my lawn. Firstly the lady turned a bag of something around so I couldn't see what it was. Then repeatedly asked me if I wanted to kill moss, and I left with an easy to apply moss killer ($20). I even said I'd love it if there was a product that could do both. She didn't say yes and didn't say no. When I went back to get broadleaf killer, I saw the perfect product on the shelf. Damn I said. I wish I'd known about that before. I asked about the practicalities of putting on now (eg: would be it be too much fertiliser) and she didn't say yes and didn't say no, but said you need this one (liquid) and a sprayer ($100). I could have spent $30 and done what I wanted. By they way Matau Garden Centre, I'm getting my garden redesigned this winter and NONE of my plants are coming from you. I'm driving all the way to Dunedin. You cleverly led me to believe the product I wanted did not exist and forced me to spend 4 times as much as I needed to. If you were any good at your job you would recommend the perfect product and get people coming back, not turn to the bag around so I wouldn't realise it existed. Don't order the stump rotter for me. I'll get that in Dunedin too.
