IUA, when first established in 1997, was regarded as essentially a niche market, moderate to high hazard property underwriter. The purchase of JCG by IUA in 2000 started to change IUA into more of a General Insurer. Since 2000, IUA has expanded further both by way of products and by the opening of an office in Christchurch to adequately service our broker clients in the South Island.
