3rd March 2011 Not worth the seat gamble. My husband and I went to NZ on honeymoon and thought this would be fun. We were the last ones on the boat and got stuck in the seats in the back, behind the captain. 70% of our view was obstructed by the bonnet that goes up over the top of the boat and by the captain's control desk in front of us. We got soaked by the waves while nobody in the front even got touched. We picked a few people up in Russell who also had to sit in the back and when I complained about the seats, I was told that they had also complained. But they "couldn't do anything about it". How about not booking those seats? At least not for full price? I was very upset afterward, not only for the wasted time and money, but also for the missed experience, that I glimpsed was excellent for those in the good seats, but was only an expensive tease for us.
