20th June 2011 We were hungry, who do you ask? Ask a local. Actually we asked about 5 people who we thought 'looked' local and they all said go to Hine's Takeaways. We got there and the place was busy, we thought oh no we are gonna have to wait. Then we thought that there must be a reason why there are lots of people in the shop. We were welcomed by a young lady who had a nice smile and when we questioned about what was available, she was more than happy to provide all the answers we needed. We ordered and was advised on the wait time, oh well. . . so we went for a walk. We returned and bang on, our order was just coming out of the kitchen. The fish was absolutely beautiful. We had a mixtyure of the 'fish of the day' to the beautiful blue cod (a bit more expensive). The batter was crunchy, well drained, tasty and a nice colour. The chips were crunchy on the outside but soft in the middle. All were well drained, in fact we commented on not much grease on the paper our order was wrapped in. We decided to enjoy our meal and took a table in the shop. There was plenty of seating both in and outside and the shop looked and felt nice and clean. The environment and ambience of the shop was friendly, with wall hangings and fish charts on the walls. The view was absolutely beautiful with snow on the mountains looking regal and powerful. The telly was in the background where we could either listen to that, take in the beautiful mountain views or watch the people and traffic go by as we relaxed and comfortably ate and enjoyed our delicious fish'n'chips.
