A group of 4 of us went and had the Steamboat Buffet here, everything was really fresh and there was so much to choose from, eat as much as you want for $22 and we stayed the whole evening. On top of the steamboat there was a entrees section with the most amazing fish cakes and chicken wings, plus there is unlimited soda for the kids and lotsof yummy desert. The staff where friendly and super helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend Star Vietnam for a relaxed and well priced meal.

I rate it 0.5 star because I can't find the restaurant in this address (7 Reeves Road Pakuranga) has it closed down or moved? I advice people to visit the actual place before deciding to bring your family/partner based on online reviews, addresses, etc. because you might find an empty building (then you have to decide somewhere else to go, after the embarrassment) or worse, the service, food, hygiene, price has changed and isn't up to standard anymore. Out of 5-6 steamboat restaurants (in Auckland) I searched for online (to book a birthday dinner for 8), only 1 was very good! There were at least 4 good reviews with high ratings, the restaurant has a website, local foodie bloggers rave about it, and the place exists! The rest were "inflated" reviews and often, outdated. I also checked their grading is current and at least a B (it was an A). I hope this helps people decide where to eat :)

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant. Tasty food and the place is well known for their buffet as well as their dishes off the menu. Plenty of seating both downstairs and upstairs. Great place to go with a group of friends for some good food at great prices!
