I don't normally like to write negative things on public forums but the terrible quality of service left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I feel this is justified. Arrived at the Daikoku Botany branch last night for dinner with a group of friends looking forward to a good meal. When we asked if they had space for a table for 5, the manager in charge who was at the front counter was extremely arrogant, impolite and dismissive and refused to acknowledge us until the last member of our group who was running slightly late arrived. The restaurant was not particularly busy, either. Unfortunately based on the quality of this welcome, we did not stay long enough to try the food. Still unsure what we did to warrant such behavior. Disappointing. Went across the road to another establishment instead where the atmosphere, service and food were excellent. I won't act so low as to name the manager publicly here, but they definitely were not qualified to be in the hospitality industry.

Have been to Daikoku Restaurant many times and simply love the food and environment. The Chefs are creative and can keep the kids entertained while waiting for the food. However have not been there for more than a year since the last bad encounter regarding utilization of 1-1 voucher. Anyway, apart from that, the food, ambience, entertainment level is all worth viisting.

Daikoku is a smart, and casual restaurant tucked away upstairs in the Botany Town Centre. The food is authentic Japanese Cuisine, and its quality is top-notch. Everything is cooked in front of you, and is extremely aromatic and fresh. Be sure to ask for extra Yaru sauce, you will not be disappointed. However one tie back is their price, which is a little bit over considering the amount of food you get (however, still get a better feed for value than places such as the French Cafe). Everyone ends up thanking their chef, as each table shares one chef. However, sometimes there are no chefs available and you may have to share a table with strangers, so privacy is a tad of a concern. As far as skill goes, no Head Chef would really be necessary. The menu is set out and I would figure it is rarely changed. Cooking is very basic, but their seasoning and sauces amplify the taste of their food dramatically. Daikoku is a very fun place to go to, and if you're not looking for a 3 day feed then this is the place to go :)

Shot round here the other day after lovely morning out with friends. We took little Miss almost 3 along with us. She had a ball watching the chef cook the food right in front of us .. and it was with a big squeal of delight she realised she was having ice-cream too. Good family place

Nice restaurant. Very good food, and attentive staff. Go early (6pm - 7 pm) for the Early Bird Specials (I recommend the "C" Special, which includes crayfish and chicken. Lots of food, so come hungry. Definitely a bit pricey, but worth the experience.
