The Sunderland Lounge is the community hall located off Marine Parade on the former Hobsonville Air Base, in West Auckland. Built in the late 1940's as the base cinema, the hall is named after the Sunderland seaplanes which were based at Hobsonville in the 1940's and 50's.
The hall will accommodate about 140 seated at tables, 200 seated in 'lecture' format, or up to 300 standing for drinks. There are a commercial kitchen and bar facilities. A smaller 'supper room' adjoins the hall and kitchen, while the main hall can be partly closed-off for smaller functions.
The Sunderland Lounge is available for functions, community classes and regular bookings.
