The founder and owner of FEATUREWORKS Tim Hanifin started his apprenticeship in bricklaying in 1997 in Timaru. While training in his bricklaying apprenticeship with the NZQA he was also trained by a Swiss stonemason, working with all aspects of stonemasonry. From gaining knowledge in the preparation of all stone and developing high quality laying skills with basalt (volcanic rock), schist, riverstone and Oamaru stone, which include both traditional and contemporary architectural styles. After completing his apprenticeship, Tim relocated to Christchurch and since 2002 FEATUREWORKS has been busy around New Zealand building quality brick and block work, and stone features.
