Omega Rental Cars New Zealand is a car rental company with hire locations throughout NZ including Christchurch Airport. We specialise in providing quality late model rental cars to free and independent travellers.
We offer fully inclusive car rental rates and key benefits include free 24 hour road side service, free pick-up and drop-off, free seats for children, and free AA Travel road atlas.
Our Christchurch Airport Depot is based close to Airport terminal. Once you are ready to be collected, please call our Christchurch office on freephone number 0800 11 21 21 and a representative will be sent to collect you in our Omega Shuttle Bus. You will then be taken to our Airport Depot, 5 minutes away, where you will complete the documentation and uplift your vehicle.
If you are staying at accommodation close to the Airport a representative will collect you and bring you to the depot to uplift your rental vehicle. This should be arranged prior to the day of your collection. In case of any difficulties our freephone number is 0800 11 21 21.

14th October 2012 The Suburu Liberty we hired was in good condition and great to drive. The staff were very friendly and very helpful and the Christchurch Airport pickup and return wasquick and easy.

22nd August 2012 Excellent service, relatively new car and at a much better price than anywhere else we looked. I'll definitely recommend to friends! If you are hiring the car from Christchurch airport like we did, bear in mind that you have to contact the depot AFTER your arrival so that they come to pick you up, which may take some time to figure out how to do if you're a mere tourist!

5th August 2012 Very happy with Omega. Plane delay in Sydney,they had a free call number from Australia and did their best to sort out pick up as office would be closed.
We rented a 2004 Subaru Liberty 4x4 wagon, (modern car by NZ standards) a few marks, but this is a good thing, nothing worse than the worry of a small chip or bump in a newer car.
We used the car for a week skiing at Mt Hutt and Porters,carried a heap of gear, for a family of four,went great and a great price. Had a good set of ski racks and chains for only $60 NZ extra.
Free Pick up and drop off service from Christchurch Airport was quick and efficient and only a few minutes from airport.
Thanks to the staff at Christchurch airport for a great car and service.
The only things I think needs improvement is a couple of better maps to get around town and NZ. Also I picked the car up and realised it only had half a tank of fuel, had to ring to check why, said it only went out with that much, so only bring it back with same amount. First time I had struck this, always return with a full tank, would of been better to explain the system before I left as I had to find a phone box to check.
If you guys had that sorted, I would of given 5 stars. But if I go back to NZ, I will be back for an Omega car.

31st March 2012 Great Service! Great Price!
After looking through many different car hire websites and choking on the price we found Omega. It was easy to book and cost effective. When we arrived at the airport the friendly staff picked us up, dropped us to our car and we were on the road in no time. The same was repeated for the drop off.
Already recommended to friends.

16th January 2012 Warning! Not as cheap as they appear. After signing a contract, I was told there would be a 30$ parking fee in ADDITION to the 30$ pickup-after-hours-fee. They also claimed to include free road maps and a road atlas. Not included. With 30+30 in parking, plus booking fee + I had to buy my own map - they ended up much more expensive than expected. They appeared to be cheaper than the bigger rental companies in the beginning - but ended up being more expensive. Unfriendly customer service. Would not use again.

6th July 2011 We flew into Christchurch end of April 2011 after changing our original booking for the car hire. No worries with the change. Then the airline went changed our plans too!! More changes - no worries. Staff only too happy to come and pick us up at the Sudima after we had a sleep-in as well.
Friendly and courteous staff all around. Provided us a map AND directions out of Christchurch, and the most scenic route to Queenstown - thank you. We even got a bit lost a few hours later, and ended up having the best breakfast at Ned's Cafe in Springfield, with an amazing view of the Torlesse Range covered with freshly fallen snow. Just fantastic for our first morning in NZ.
Car we hired was an older car, and was clean, mechanically sound and went great. Staff member met us on return at the depot on a Sunday and drove us to the terminal to fly out. The depot being close to the airport makes it real easy too. Definitely use Omega again. JW Queensland

5th July 2011 I have been using Omega Rentals for about 8 years, & much more frequently during the last 3 to 4 years. I have ALWAYS had wonderful courteous service & like your reliable economical cars
I encourage my family of constant travelers to use your company who also enjoy hassle-free hirage.

8th June 2011 We had a very good experience at Christchurch. We had originally ordered a mid-size car but after a day we realised that it was not big enough. We returned it and exchanged for a larger one (admittedly a bit older) at the same price which served us very well on a long journey around the whole south island. The only slightly odd experience was returning the car at Nelson. We couldn't find Omega rental and stopped at another rental provider where we were told that they were also Omega. We handed back the car, were dropped off at the airport and crossed our fingers that we hadn't just handed over the car to a random stranger! Well done Omega - we'd use you again as my daughter is currently living in NZ.

23rd May 2011 i was very please with my Toyota Corolla. it was clean and it good condition. the only problem was that the wire connection of my rented gps was faulty and so we couldnt use the gps. good thing we had a map and that got us from place to place (with help from the locals, of course). i got a refund for my gps, which is great. the staff are friendly and queries are addressed promptly. i would definitely recommended omega rentals! :)

13th April 2011 We've rented basic/cheapest car with Omega in March. The car - although with high mileage - was in good condition: in fact, it was the best car in this category, compared to other ChCh rental companies we've dealt with in the past. Customer service was excellent at all stages: every single booking correction request was met, the courtesy bus made an extra trip for us (our flight was delayed and there was a confusion with pick up location)... Thank you very much!
