Both Vanilla and Vanilla Essence are owned by the same person. The food is average at best, seating arrangements are cramped and noisy. The focus seems to be on getting as many people through the door as opposed to creating a nice dining experience. I ordered the chees and bacon wedges. These took 30 minutes to arrive and were void of with cheese or bacon and were not worth the $12 I paid. Listening to the manager, he was more interested in finding his housing alteration than keeping his customers satisfied. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, although the staff were friendly and seemed resigned to the fact that the customer comes second to the manager.

This is my Cafe of Choice for Coffee and Cheese Scones in the morning. Coffee and Scones are good value and the staff are friendly and accomodating. I hear that Cafe Vanilla now have a new Chef and I can see that the cabinet food is starting to change and that is a good thing, having variety. Loved the Quiche and Filo last week. Looking forward to the changes and of course the Coffee and Scones. A little bit of variety in the scones, say cheese and onion would be welcomed.

Vanilla, something has changed!! Loving the variety in your salads and counter food. No more Vanilla Boring, now lunchtime is fun again! :)

Looks like Vanilla Cafe have a new Chef. Loving the changes so far! Watermelon salad, yummy and so appropriate for this great Wellington weather. Keep up the great work!
