Cooking classes in Martinborough. Based at Palliser Estate wines, we offer short one-day classes with a leisurely lunch afterwards. Classes are run by Jo Crabb, with help from artist Stephen Allwood. Jo and Stephen ran the popular Cafe Medici in Martinborough for 11 years until they sold early in 2008. Named for the influential French chef Antonin Careme, chef to Tallyrand, the Prince of Wales, and the Tzar of Russia, Careme also made Napoleon's wedding cake. Jo and Stephen have a particular fondness for French food, and cassoulet, soupe de poisson and tarte au citron are popular. Let Jo show you how lots of food things aren't nearly as hard as you're sometimes lead to believe, we'll make them in our small classes - maximum of 12 per class - and then we'll eat them with Palliser Estate wines, out in the open courtyard at Palliser. (yes, we go indoors, into the new conference room in bad weather.)
