First Class Education & Care aims to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children are nurtured and provided with the opportunity to grow and develop as competent, confident learners and communicators secure in their sense of belonging. The Centre's Christian Philosophy will underpin all aspects of the curriculum.
Introduction
We are a Christian based Centre licensed by the Ministry of Education to cater for a total of 50 children Centrewide.
We are open from Monday - Friday 7:30a.m - 5:30p.m and provide quality childcare for both full time and part time enrolments catering for children from 6 months - 6 years.
We have 3 separate areas, providing children with age appropriate care:
Nursery 6 months - 2 years
Kindy Cubs 2 years
Steady Bears 3 - 6 years
First Class values the two guiding principles in Quality in Action, the Ministry of Education's expectations for Early Childhood Services. The principles reflect the fundamental values and beliefs, ethics and ideals of early childhood education in Aotearoa.
At First Class we:
1.Work in partnership with parents/Whanau to promote and extend each child's learning and development.
2.Develop and implement a programme that assists each child to become a competent and confident learner and communicator; healthy in mind, body, and spirit; secure in their sense of belonging; secure in the knowledge they make a valued contribution to our centre and their community.
Te Whaarki, the National Early Childhood Curriculum, underpins our programme. We create a holistic view of each child's learning. The outline for each day is driven by the children's interest and choice. Routines are scheduled to be responsive to individual needs.
Mat times and meal times encourage each child to develop a sense of belonging in a familiar group. At First Class children develop a positive sense of wellbeing.
