Hawthorne House

Hawthorne House is an elegant Edwardian villa offering four luxuriously appointed en- suite rooms. Located at the end of an avenue of 100 year old Plane trees, in a beautiful garden setting, Hawthorne is the perfect blend of period features and modern comforts.

Located just a short drive from both Hastings and Havelock North, and only 20 minutes from the city of Napier, Hawthorne is the ideal base for your visit to Hawke's Bay. Spend your days exploring the region's many attractions - wineries, Art Deco Napier, golf courses, fly fishing, the Hastings racecourse, food markets, great restaurants, the gannet colony at Cape Kidnappers - or just spend time relaxing on the property. In winter unwind with a book in the reading room or in front of the fire in the guest living room. In summer, decide whether to pick a spot in the garden, under shade on your personal verandah or even on an old train platform (a relic from the site's former life) overlooking the duck pond. If you're feeling active, work on your petanque and croquet skills.

When you arrive, a homemade afternoon tea is on offer. Then, when the sun starts to go down, enjoy a pre dinner glass of wine with accompanying canapes. In the morning, treat yourself to something delicious for breakfast/brunch. Our menu features local organic produce and our own free-range eggs.

All four rooms are East facing, catching the morning sun. Of the four rooms, three are Super King and the fourth, which is wheelchair friendly, is a Queen.
