5 months ago I dropped a cup into my brand new toilet. It cracked the side of the bowl and I decided to call mend-a-bath to do a repair. The repairman got straight into it without delay and the job looked fine until the paint started flaking off a month later. I had him back to redo it which he did, but the owner of the company didn't seem too happy when I called to get the repairman back. The paint has stated to flake a second time, so today I got the owner of this franchise out to see what he could do. He said that it was a difficult job due to the position of the crack and I should get a new toilet. He said if he repaired it, the pain would flake off again. I said that I should have been told at the time of the initial repair that it was difficult and risky and he just smiled and shrugged. He said they don't give guarantees and there are no refunds. He was unpleasant to deal with and I am out $250 which is what the repair cost. Be aware of this company as they do not stand by their work. If there was a risk of the repair not working I should have been made aware of this at the start so I could have made an informed decision. I would not have chosen to go ahead with the repair if I thought there was a chance the paint would flake off.
