Dined at the new 'Eight' restaurant. Choice of food was great. Good value for money for special occassions. Would recommend for a Valentine's dinner

One of Auckland's finest. Eight is a culinary delight- think an all you can eat but gourmet style. The chefs cook the meat in front of you and too your liking- but it's not just any meat. It's the finest wagny corn fed beef scotch or anything your heart desires. From a mouth watering fresh fish seafood station to authentic indian nan bread being made to order. Eight is definatly worth the expense. The desserts are beautifully handcrafted with small flowers and hand made chocolates- almost too pretty to eat. This restaurant is a must visit for any one who wants a gourmet meal with the all you can eat option.

Visited the new restaurant 'Eight' last week with my family and had a really good time. It combines the informal atmosphere of a buffet with high quality food, freshly prepared in front of you. The eight stations (hence the name) each serve food (like meat, dim sun, fish, salads) the way you request. Personal highlights were the super-fresh sushi and sashimi and the Indian curries and freshly baked naan. Did I mention the great desserts? Great place to go to if you are with a group with different food preferences.

Dined at the new 'Eight' restaurant on Wednesday night. Think buffet dining with an innovative twist: cooks at the eight different stations (hence the name) will prepare your food the way you like it, in front of you. With lots of different food to choose from (for example many different types of steaks, dim sum, loads of fresh fish, scallops, oysters, salads) Personal highlights were the scrumptious Indian food, the mouth watering beef and the superfresh yellow-fin tuna sushi and sashimi. Did I mention the desserts? Ideal for a dinner experience where your fellow diners not all have the same food preferences...

Dinned at their new concept "Eight" for a Sunday Lunch this is a new concept buffet dining and they cook some items to your order, although we were told that we would have the concept explained to us by staff there was no one available when I went up and I wondered around not knowing where we were to start, some of the staff I did ask only knew information about their own station, it wasn't until I had wondered around for 10 minutes did I work out where things were. The Curries were awesome, just the right heat for me (I'm a spice wimp) but better that a malls butter chicken, The Steaks you can get cooked to your liking only problem is that they were only just a little thicker than a minute steak, they also cooked fish to your order but when I got back to my table with this I found that it was not fresh and had that really fishy smell, I did tell the waiter who said they would get someone to talk to me but no one followed up with me. The deserts were also quite nice, the different types of ice cream were lovely especially the tiramisu but was let down by the fruit salad, the melons had a very tangy taste to them which usually means they are well past there use by date. Over all the food is ok but not worth the new price they are charging and was not up to the usual standard of its predecessor the SBF brassiere

Everything about the Langham we found was amazing. I flew back in from Austrailia and stayed in on of their executive suites. They organized dinner, flowers and a birthday cake and went out of their way with service. Definitely recommended!

Enjoyed the roast buffet lunch recently. It was as good as the buffet breakfast and dinner we had before. The food is consistently high quality, well presented, and just the right amount of selections. The decor is elegant and relaxing. We will surely pay another visit!

In my opinion, the best hotel in auckland. The buffet breakfast is amazing, with everything one could wish for - a magnatude of cereals, fresh breads, pastries, yoghurts, spreads, fresh fruit, tropical fruit, bircher muesli (my favourite!), nuts, fish - salmon, kedgeree, smoked fish, bagels, cheeses, sliced meats, pastries, muffins, a varying cooked selection of hash browns, mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes, stir-fry, black pudding, baked beans... And omlettes, eggs, pancakes and waffles made to order.

enjoyed a 2-for-1 buffet with my wife last night at the Langham. it was a typical 4-star hotel buffet with a varied selection of cuisine of good quality, but far from being a gourmet dining experience. The restaurant was very quiet and the service very attentive, which made us feel like we owned the place; we stretched out on the loungey bench seats and relaxed for a couple of hours as we feasted on bits and pieces of everything. food-wise, the highlight was the stir-fry freshly made to order - pretty much as good as a stir fry gets. overall a fun low-key dining experience, albeit one that would've been way overpriced had it not been for the 2-for-1 voucher we had!
