23rd August 2010 This place is amazing. Ate here a few months ago and will be back again soon. The food was to die for, my husband said he has never had a steak so perfect in his life and the service was attentive yet not over the top. cant wait to go back!
17th July 2012 With such an excellent human-team, being Alfonso among others, no wonder La Vista is one of the best restaurants to have fun and enjoy good food in Auckland. Thank you for the superb job introducing Spanish cuisine and culture to New Zealanders

13th July 2010 A great St Heliers cafe. Been there many many times for brunch. One of my top five places in Auckland for great coffee. Interesting, mediterranean-inspired menu. The Spanish omelette with chorizo and feta cheese is delicious. Service is always quick and friendly. Sit on one of the outside tables on a sunny day and look out at the harbour and Rangitoto. Highly recommended!

7th July 2010 I haven't been here to eat but the coffee is always top notch and the location is fab - if you sit outside, there are great sea views and a nice touch is the pashminas on the seats in case of chilly weather!

6th July 2010 I took my mother & sister there for a light meal, we shared a platter on a Sunday afternoon. At $45, not in-expensive, but the quality of food was wonderful and it would have satisfied 4 people!
The staff were delightful and happily suggested and relocated us when Mum got a bit cold. They also seemed Italian, which is always nice in an Italian restaurant.
I've heard variable reports on the staff and this was during the day. We're going back for dinner to see what the evening staff & experience is like, so will post another report.
On personal experience, First rate so far and the coffee was just right.

6th July 2010 Great coffee for adults, but not especially child friendly. No child seats were available and the fluffy I ordered for my 2 year old son was mostly hot milk (which then ended up all over him). Good cafes know that a fluffy is just that, all bubbles and very little liquid to reduce spillage risks!

2nd November 2009 Had a lovely coffee out on the pavement but when I went in to pay I couldn't get my baby buggy through and had to ask someone to move while I went past. This was no problem and the customer laughed at how small the space was. While up paying a waitress walked past and rudely told told me on the way out to go another way and move the chairs and tables myself! Won't be going back there any time soon!

21st August 2009 Having previously had a good dining experience here before I had no hesitation in booking this for a family birthday. We were very disappointed in all the seafood dishes ordered. So much so that I won't be dining at La Vista anytime soon.
