13th June 2012 This restaurant has gone seriously downhill since our last visit! This was probably the worst meal I have ever eaten in Takapuna in 15 years!
For a start, the lady (Manager, possibly owner?) did not inform me that the meal I ordered was actually different from what the menu said. Meal was less than average. My partner ordered the eye fillet med-rare. It came out very rare, was tough and chewy with gristle running right through the middle of it (not sure if it was a real eye fillet or a cheaper cut that had been shaped to look like eye fillet). His meal was meant to be served with bearnaise, it came with a bad version of hollandaise, and an extremely dry potato gratin that seemed days old. The waitress was very apologetic but the manager who took our order did not once say sorry. She didn't charge us for the steak, but we had an entertainment card that gave us a free meal anyway, so we ended up with no discount! We left our meals uneaten and went down the road to another place for a second attempt at dinner! An expensive let down!!

1st January 2011 Shocking service. 8 of us tried to eat here on a quiet morning. After waiting 45 minutes from ordering our breakfast I asked our waitress what was taking so long. She laughed as she told me she had forgot to give the chef our order!! With staff like that I'll never go back

31st August 2010 Mint has the MOST amazing Salmon scramble I have ever tried (and I have been spolied with such delights being part of a family of Chefs). I am looking forward to making the trip back to have them again.....yummm

31st August 2010 Lovely decor and staff are very friendly (which makes up for average service). Food is good and well presented with a decent menu though a little predictable. Lovely to sit outside on a sunny morning for breakfast.

27th August 2010 Mint Restaurant and Bar was a very pleasant surprise, when visited on a resent girls night out. The staff straight away made us feel comfortable, they were pleasant and joked with us and each other in a friendly way. The food was magnificent. I had the "Ocean Pick of the Day" which was mouth watering and unlike some restaurants contained an ample amount of fish, prawns and scallops, everyone else enjoyed their meals.
The ambience was wonderful and would also suit a couple going out for a special romantic dinner. (ie, I will drag hubby along next time)
I would recommend you try this gem in Takapuna.

26th July 2010 We found Mint when we lived down the road, and have enjoyed the breakfast so much, we still travel to eat there. Neat staff, who went out of the way to bring out a little cake for my grandmothers birthday lunch. Great in the summer and warm in the winter, definitely check them out.
